The original 1947 debris recovery centred on ranch land near Corona, New Mexico, where rancher William Brazel found scattered material. Later testimony expanded the story. The result is not merely a lack of precision. In some cases, the accounts describe mutually incompatible sequences of events. If one witness places bodies at a location and time where another witness claims only debris was present, both accounts cannot be completely accurate in every detail.

- Relatives recounting what parents or grandparents supposedly told them.
