Why Sierra Sam Was Not a Grey Alien

Introduction

It is one of the most recognisable human-shaped test devices ever built and is often cited as an example of the anthropomorphic dummies that military researchers dropped and recovered in New Mexico during the 1950s. Although Sierra Sam was not a tiny alien, several features of dummy-recovery operations resemble elements that appeared in Roswell body stories decades after 1947.

There is also a chronological issue. Sierra Sam and the balloon-drop programmes cited in the Air Force explanation belong primarily to the 1950s.
