Among all the attempts to explain the Roswell debris without invoking extraterrestrial craft, one candidate gradually emerged as more important than the rest: Project Mogul Flight 4. The significance of Flight 4 is not that it proves every claim made about Roswell was mistaken. Why It Fits the Debris Story
Flight 4 became the leading candidate because several independent elements appeared to line up better than competing explanations.
First, Mogul balloon trains were far more complex than ordinary weather balloons.
