Why the Search Expanded Beyond a Simple File Hunt
The Air Force’s records search produced an unexpected result. While investigators were attempting to answer a records-management question, they uncovered evidence relating to Project Mogul, a previously classified balloon programme designed to detect Soviet nuclear activity.
