Several accounts further indicate that debris moved through multiple stages:
- Discovery and collection on the ranch.
- Transfer of samples to Brazel’s residence and then to Roswell.
- Inspection at Roswell Army Air Field.
- Shipment to higher command, including Fort Worth headquarters under General Roger Ramey.

For historians, this establishes Marcel as a genuine participant rather than a later commentator. He was not claiming second-hand knowledge. He physically handled recovered material and helped move it through the military system. DVIDS
Where the chain-of-custody record becomes uncertain
The difficulty begins once the debris left Marcel’s immediate control.
A complete documentary chain showing every transfer, storage location, inspection, and disposition of the recovered material has never been produced publicly. Why missing samples limit later claims

Had even a small, securely documented sample survived, later claims about unusual properties could be evaluated scientifically. Metallurgical analysis, isotope testing, manufacturing assessment, and comparison with known 1940s materials could all be performed.
